Copywriting and SEO are very much related to each other. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It’s essentially copywriting for search engines. It increases your visibility and gets you closer to the first page of say, Google. I mean, hardly anyone uses any other search engines anymore. But we do know that you can have the best products and services and it wouldn’t matter if no one is able to see it !
So if you’re a noob to writing on the internet for your business, we have a few tips for you.
Make It Easy To Read
You want to use sentences with 20 words or less in them. Run on sentences or complex ones take too much energy and many people will just stop reading. For that same reason, strive to write the piece in at least 80% present tense. Use the headings and subheadings about every 500 words to break up the text, making it an easier read. You want it all to be easy enough for a middle school student to understand.
Use Photos For SEO
People are sometimes searching for images instead of just text. So to get the most visibility, be sure to include at least one photo to each page of text. That way too, when people are searching for different images by keywords, your page will still pop up ! When you add the photo, be sure that the title and the ‘alt text’ are accurate and descriptive. For example, if it’s a picture of someone getting their hair shampooed at Libby’s Salon, you could make the title ‘Libby’s Salon Shampoo Service’.
